Hey everyone,
The other day, I bought COD4 and Ratchet and Clank Future from a local gamestore. Since I reside in Switzerland, I bought the German version of Call of Duty 4. However, as Ratchet and Clank was not out in the EU at that time, I bought an import that the gamestore had gotten from the US. I was told that to in order for R&C to work, I would need to update to firmware 1.94 or higher.
I went home and COD4 worked perfectly fine on my PS3. I then inserted R&C in, and it came up with the error 80010007. Remembering that I had to update my firmware, I went over to playstation.com and downloaded the latest version (I had 1.93 and updated to 2.0) to a flash drive - since I just moved house and hadn't been able to set up an internet connection for my PS. After installing the update, I tried R&C again. This time it took a really long time to load and eventually came up with the error 80010514.
Now I can't even play any of my other games that worked perfectly fine before. For the most part, the PS3 won't even recognize the game discs. The dot on the top right of the screen saying that its loading the disc comes up, but it never appears in the games section. Once in a while when a game does load, when I try to start it up, I get the same 80010514 error. This happens with games that had worked previously as well!
I turned off my PS3 and waited for an hour or so. I then tried COD4 - it worked fine. I tried R&C again, and I get the 80010514 error. I put COD4 in again, and the PS3 doesn't even read the disc. I then tried two other games and the PS3 didn't read the first or second one.
I've tried the quick and full format, but none of it seems to work.
I've also tried playing DVDs and it works without any problems.
Please help! I can barely use my PS3 right now and I'm dying to play R&C!
Some other info:
I own the 60GB PS3 that I purchased from Singapore during the summer
I also own Resistance and Motorstorm, both of which don't work since the error
As of yet, I haven't signed up for a PSN account or connect to the internet with my PS3 (If that even matters). I've done all firmware updates with a flash drive.
